Amir Besharat, D.O.
Amir was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He attended the University of California- Los Angeles as an undergraduate, where he majored in Physiological Science and Biomechanics. After graduation, he performed research in spinal cord injury and rehabilitation, and was a physical trainer as well. After a few years outside of academia, he decided to pursue further education and attended medical school in New York City at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. His background in spinal cord injury and physical training drew him towards Neurology and Neuromuscular medicine, and he is now thrilled to be a part of the UF Neurology Residency program. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, recovering from basketball injuries, simultaneously enjoying and hating golf, cooking healthy yet delicious foods, and cracking jokes with his friends.
