As part of National VA Research Week, the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center will host Research Day Friday, bringing community members together to discuss advances in health and medical fields.
The theme for this year’s event is the Path of Progress. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hosts the week, and VA medical centers across the country create programs and events to celebrate the VA Research Program and its discoveries.
Dr. Stephen Nadeau, associate chief of staff for research at the Malcom Randall VA, said progress has been extensive in his 35 years in the medical field.
“If it weren’t for all of this research,” Nadeau said, “we would be pretty much where we were in 1980, which is amazing. It’s a world of difference.”
