Dr. Maria Bruzzone received her medical degree from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. She pursued a neurology residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois, which she completed in 2016. She is currently completing her fellowship training in Neurophysiology/Epilepsy at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Dr. Bruzzone also participated in different short-term training programs such as the J. Kiffin Penry Epilepsy Education Programs and Minifellow Network: Resident Program in Epilepsy, North Carolina (2014); the Neurology Residency Epilepsy Program in Orlando, Miami (2015); the Neurologist in training Clinical Ethics Elective of the American Academy of Neurology (2015-2016) and the Epilepsy-Patient Oriented Research Training (EpiPORT) program of the American Epilepsy Society (2016).

Dr. Bruzzone is board certified in neurology and board eligible in neurophysiology and epilepsy. She is fluent in Spanish (native speaker).

MR-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy for the treatment of medically refractory epilepsy
