Dr. Bernadette Nazario initially pursued a career in pharmacy. She obtained a doctorate in Pharmacy, graduating Cum Laude from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2002. For the next 2 years, she completed two post-graduate pharmacy residency training programs at the San Juan VA Medical Center, one of them being in Primary Care Pharmacy. Following her passion for direct patient care she then decided to initiate her medical career at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2010. Dr. Nazario then completed a residency in Neurology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.

During medical school and neurology residency, Dr. Nazario was selected to present different research and clinical posters at local and national meetings. Following residency, Dr. Nazario developed a private practice at a community hospital in Puerto Rico where she dedicated her attention to diverse neurological disorders in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Her clinical and research interests include headache, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, and neurodegenerative disorders, among others. Dr. Nazario will be joining the faculty of Neurology as an assistant professor in the General Neurology Division at the University of Florida in February 2016.
