Dr. James Wymer is a neurologist and professor practicing at The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular diseases and how the brain can interact with neurologic and neuromuscular disease.  Neuromuscular disease is defined as those diseases effecting the ability to control strength and movement.  This can include diseases as diverse as Multiple Sclerosis, neuropathy, muscle disease, and Lou Gehrig’s disease. Dr. Wymer has extensive clinical and research experience.  He been the principal investigator in numerous clinical trials including studies of ALS, diabetic neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, migraine headaches, neurofibromatosis, and epilepsy. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). He is a member of several national consortiums to research neuropathic pain and ALS.
