We are honored to announce that the inpatient and outpatient services at our two new hospitals — the UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital and the UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital — are officially open. We extend our appreciation for every faculty and staff member who contributed to the incredibly complex planning and transition process.
On December 10, our hospital teams oversaw the successful transfer of 139 inpatients into the new building and the move of approximately 30 patient transfers within our other hospitals as faculty, residents, staff and volunteers began hospital-based care. Beginning December 11, four UF Health Physicians specialty practices opened in this new location: UF Health Surgical Specialists — Heart & Vascular Hospital; UF Health Cardiology — Heart & Vascular Hospital; UF Health Neurology — Neuromedicine Hospital; and UF Health Neurosurgery — Neuromedicine Hospital.
Special thanks to the incredible leadership and tireless commitment of our UF Health Shands, UF College of Medicine, UF Health Physicians and UF Health core service colleagues who served on numerous committees, workgroups and teams to plan and roll out every detail of this milestone project.
