AOA Honor Medical Society celebrates new members

A select few of the University of Florida College of Medicine’s elite students, residents and faculty were elected for lifelong membership into the highly prestigious national organization, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, in an annual banquet March 17.

Since the society’s establishment in 1902, over 200,000 physicians and medical students have been inducted from medical schools across the country. The University of Florida Beta Chapter was established in May 1960 and was the 85th local chapter to be chartered.

Congratulations to our own Melissa J. Armstrong, M.D., M.Sc., FAAN, director of the Mangurian Clinical-Research Center for Lewy Body and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia for her induction as a new member this year.
