UF Health’s new mobile stroke treatment unit — the first in Florida — is rolling!

This is such an exciting time for our health system and for our community. Only 20 mobile stroke programs are operational nationwide, and we have one HERE!

We have worked hand-in-hand with our colleagues from Alachua County Fire Rescue to make this a reality. And after months of training and preparation, I know the teams are ready to make a difference and help reduce the hardships caused by stroke.

With this new mobile stroke unit, we will be able to take treatment to the patient instead of waiting for the patient to arrive at one of our facilities. This will save precious time and greatly reduce the risk of death or disability from a stroke.

We are so proud of this latest advancement and all that we are doing to care for patients and the communities we serve.
