The Department of Neurology at the University of Florida will be represented at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Florida Society of Neurology (FSN), with thirteen faculty members, including our department chair, scheduled to present. This event will take place from January 18-19, 2025, at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort in Orlando, Florida. The meeting will offer an educational program with updates on the latest advancements in neurology.
The UF Neurology faculty presenting at the conference include Drs. DeKosky, Nadeau, Pontone, Wymer, Burns, Jaffee, Bruzzone, Remz, McFarland, Ameli, Rempe, Montalvo, and Davis. The program is organized by Dr. Nikolaus McFarland, an associate professor at UF Neurology and a specialist in movement disorders, who leads a multidisciplinary clinical research program focused on atypical Parkinson’s disorders.Their participation reflects UF Neurology’s commitment to advancing patient care, research, and education in the field of neurology.
The FSN Annual Meeting will include a variety of educational sessions, including the 18th Annual Florida Neurology Residents and Fellows Research Day, a Neurology Overview & Updates session, and a Dinner and Brain Health presentation with a panel discussion. The meeting is set to bring together neurologists, internists, geriatricians, emergency room physicians, neurology physician assistants, nurse practitioners, residents, fellows, and other allied health professionals, offering learning opportunities for all attendees.
The UF faculty presentations will contribute to discussions on the management of neurological disorders, treatment approaches, and updates in neurology practice. With a diverse group of specialists sharing their expertise, the meeting will provide insights into patient care and developments in neurology, including strategies to avoid burnout and maintain humanism in practice. The participation of our faculty highlights the University of Florida’s role in neurological research and education in the state of Florida and beyond.
