Outpatient Clinic

About our Outpatient Clinic

Photo of outpatient staff

Our outpatient program services over 5000 patients who travel from north and central Florida, and from all over the state of Florida and the southern United States. The Division also has for several decades provided outpatient services to the Tacachale Developmental Disability Center. Our attending physicians, postgraduate trainees and nurse practitioners staff over 40 half-day clinics at the Neuromedicine hospital that see over 150 patients weekly. Our waiting list for new patients is variable and depends on patient acuity; urgent patients are prioritized for early appointments, often within two weeks.

All outpatients are offered a detailed and unhurried evaluation of their seizure disorder. Outpatient electroencephalography (EEG) is conveniently located next to our clinic rooms; the outpatient lab for blood tests is also located on the same floor. We offer expert evaluation of patients suspected to have seizures, new patients following their first suspected seizure, and patients with a longer history whose seizures remain difficult to manage. The outpatient clinic is backed up by an 8-bed epilepsy monitoring unit in the UFHealth Neuromedicine Hospital. Our clinical service more generally has access to a full range of diagnostic facilities for state-of-the-art evaluation of epilepsy.
