There remains significant heterogeneity in the application of targeted temperature management (TTM) despite international guidelines. We aim to assess physician perceptions, attitudes, and understanding of TTM in the post-cardiac arrest setting. In addition to this, we seek to assess the implications of new trial data regarding the efficacy of TTM in improving neurologic outcomes. This survey is being disseminated to members of Society for Critical Care Medicine, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, American Academy of Neurology.

This study involves the reviewing of technical, cognitive and effective teamwork skill sets as well as identify risk factors for non-adherence to treatment guidelines, as well as identify threats, misses and near-misses to describe the development of a high-fidelity multidisciplinary simulation program that uses evidence-based medicine, guidelines and innovative devices focused on the management of acute respiratory complications in the Neurology ICU (live simulation).

A collaboration with the departments of Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology and Chemistry, to identify characteristic compositions of protein-based biomarkers in urine from subjects undergoing elective lumbar spine surgery collected pre-op and associated with development of POUR.

This study aims to optimize the brain death determination process through having the neurocritical care consultation leading the management of the potential donors. We will assess time from brain death to organ resuscitation for procurement, organ retrieval yield, allograph function, and nursing satisfaction.
