Expectations for All Rotations
- Complete an EPIC tutorial and have functional username and password before your first day of inpatient wards. The EPIC hotline is (352) 265-EPIC, if help is needed.
- Please bring your own laptop for chart review, writing notes, etc. as most clinical environments do not have enough computers to support their dedicated clinical staff as well as rotators.
- Participate fully in a team’s activities including patient admission work-ups, rounding, and attending morning report and grand This includes active discussion of patients, even those not under your care. Being on your phone or otherwise distracted without a communicated reason to do so is typically not going to give the best impression.
- Review literature relevant to the patients that the team is caring for to improve discussion during rounds. If possible, try to do a small presentation about topics relevant to rounds.
