Welcome to a dynamic one-year clinical training program at the University of Florida Hospital, specializing in the emergent field of EEG application for critically ill patients. This is a non ACGME accredited fellowship open to those who have completed a residency training in neurology.
As a Critical Care EEG Fellow, you’ll embark on an immersive educational journey, covering both fundamental and advanced aspects of EEG interpretation in critical care settings. Your expertise will expand to include quantitative EEG techniques, real-time brain monitoring, detection of ischemia/vasospasm, examination of controversial patterns, intracranial EEG, and multimodal surveillance. Additionally, you’ll gain exposure to general non-critical care EEG, such as outpatient EEGs, epilepsy video/EEG monitoring, and pediatric critical care EEG.
Your training will also involve mastering the management of seizures in critically ill patients, including those with refractory status epilepticus. Our program is complemented by a range of clinical and research electives, offering a robust and innovative learning experience.
