Clinical Training Overview

Critical Care EEG fellows at UF/Shands will undertake comprehensive responsibilities related to the interpretation of EEGs and evoked potentials such as SSEP, VEPs, and BAERs.

Facilities and Equipment
Outpatient EEG Lab – The facility includes two specially designed rooms equipped with EEG recorders and an additional flexible room that can be adapted for EEG, EP, or unique studies.
Inpatient ICU Monitoring – For critical inpatient care, the unit boasts 16 portable AV-EEG recorders tailored for intensive long-term monitoring within the ICU.
Monitoring Room – A sophisticated monitoring room is furnished with hospital workstations and multiple multiscreen quantitative digital EEG analysis stations dedicated to physician use.
EMU Beds – UF is equipped with eight adult Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) beds and three pediatric EMU beds, allowing for specialized care and observation.
