Length of Fellowship

The fellowship lasts for one year. There is the possibility of doing an optional 2nd year of neuromuscular research in collaboration with other UF Institutes including the UF Center for Neurogenetics, UF Myology Institute, UF McKnight Brain Institute, UF Powell Gene Therapy Center and the UF Rehabilitation Department.

We strongly encourage fellows who are interested in pursuing a career in academic medicine to consider staying on as core faculty in the Neuromuscular Division after completing their one-year fellowship. This opportunity allows them to continue their professional development within a supportive, intellectually stimulating environment, where they can contribute to both patient care and academic research. Remaining with the division offers a chance to further hone clinical skills, engage in meaningful research, and mentor future generations of trainees, all while advancing a career in the field of neuromuscular medicine.
