The Medi-Gators Virtual Shadowing Program is a shadowing program delivered through Zoom created by University of Florida students and faculty at the UF College of Medicine. In this program, pre-health students have the opportunity to interact with various medical professionals in different specialties to get a look into the realities of being a healthcare professional.
Registration for the Spring 2023 session of Medi-Gators will open on Monday, January 23rd at 8am EST and it will close on Thursday, February 16th at 8:00am EST. There is no registration limit on the number of UF students who can participate – as long as students register before the deadline, they may participate this semester. Students interested in registering must be affiliated with the University of Florida (i.e. current student, recent graduate, etc.
The Spring 2023 session is about 6 weeks in length, and it will include live zoom presentations every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday beginning February 16th and ending April 12th. Participants will virtually shadow 40 healthcare professionals within various specialties, and they can earn up to 40 virtual shadowing hours and/or a certificate upon program completion. We offer flexible attendance options, including synchronous and asynchronous participation, so participants are not required to attend every live presentation.
