About Joanne August
Joanne is currently a PhD candidate in Nursing Science at Widener University, School of Nursing. Her dissertation research focuses on nonmotor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and freezing of gait. Prior to coming to the University of Florida, she worked as a clinical lecturer at Widener University’s School of Nursing and as a licensed registered nurse in acute care. Joanne holds an MSN and a BSN in nursing from Widener University. In addition, she is in her final year of the Master of Science in Biostatistics program in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Florida. Her research interests include neurodegenerative disorders, longitudinal and multilevel data, interdisciplinary collaboration, telehealth, and telecommunication technologies. Joanne enjoys spending her free time with her family, origami, exploring new places, and learning latte art.
