About Maria Bruzzone Giraldez
Dr. Maria Bruzzone is an Epileptologist at the University of Florida. She earned her medical degree from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay. She later completed her neurology residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, in 2016. After her residency, she pursued fellowship training in Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at the University of Chicago Medical Center, finishing in 2017. She also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research from the Medical University of South Carolina. She currently serves as an Associate Professor of Neurology.

Research Profile
Dr. Bruzzone serves as the Director of Research for the Epilepsy division at the University of Florida. Her research interests focus on Precision Ketogenic Therapy for drug-resistant epilepsies, utilizing EEG as a biomarker for postoperative and ICU-related delirium, and the long-term management of acute symptomatic seizures.
