Johnny Cebak, DO, PhD

Major Johnny Cebak, DO, PhD, is a physician-scientist who comes to the University of Florida from Mayo Clinic, where he trained in neurology and neurocritical care. He is joining the Department of Neurology as a Clinical Assistant Professor, with academic interests in neurocritical care, translational neuroscience, and traumatic brain injury. He has 23 years of military service in the Army National Guard, including deployment to Iraq from 2005 to 2006 as a combat medic. Those experiences helped shape his path toward traumatic brain injury research and a PhD in neurotrauma focused on pharmacological intervention in TBI.
