About Shilpa Haldal

Shilpa was born and raised in the bustling cosmopolitan city of Bangalore, India where she graduated medical school from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences. She developed a keen interest in neurology and decided to pursue further training in the US, completing her neurology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She was drawn to the dynamic nature of the intensive care unit and therefore a fellowship in Neurocritical Care was the obvious next step. She is particularly interested in understanding the pathophysiology of acute neurological insults and emerging neuromonitoring modalities that allow individualized care.

When not at work she enjoys hosting friends at home, traveling, kayaking and hopes to rekindle her passion for the Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam.
