Magali Jorand-Fletcher, MPH
Clinical Research Coordinator
About Magali Jorand-Fletcher
Magali recently joined the Neurocritical Care team (NCC) in the department of Neurology as a Clinical Research Coordinator III. She has been a part of the University of Florida community since 2001. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in 2005, she earned a Master of Public Health in 2012, specializing in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Following her graduation, Magali moved to a Research Coordinator role, focusing on data collection and database management.
During her four years with the Pediatric Research Hub (PoRCH), she played a key role in establishing the MD STARnet Florida site. This project involved the collection of longitudinal and cross-sectional surveillance data on muscular dystrophy. Serving as the data manager, Magali developed extensive expertise in managing Data Use Agreements (DUAs), IRBs, and collaborating with the Veterans Affairs hospital. She finds the most joy in her work when she’s playing with data, and when she’s able to help PIs accomplish their research goals.
Outside of work, she enjoys practicing the trapeze and aerial silks with her daughters at the Gainesville Circus Center, loves tackling home improvement projects, and playing the Legend of Zelda video game.
