About David Mendoza
David Mendoza is a born and bred New Yorker, growing up in Queens and Brooklyn. Having always admired military service, he joined the US Army during wartime. During his enlistment, which included a yearlong deployment to Iraq, he discovered his passion for medicine while training in special operations. After completing his service in the Army, he returned to New York to study chemistry at Pace University in pursuit of a medical degree. He went on to obtain his MD from Florida International University in Miami. David is currently a neurology resident at UF, cultivating his interests in vascular neurology and neurocritical care.
