About Wilian Luan Pilatti Sant'Ana

Wilian is a medical doctor from Brazil with a passion for both clinical work and research. He earned his MD and MSc in Medical Sciences at the University of Vale do Taquari (Brazil), where he worked in primary care and began his first faculty role. Enthusiastic about neurosurgery and neurocritical care, he’s dedicated to bridging the gap between research and real-world practice. In 2023, he spent a few months shadowing the Neurocritical Care team at the University of Florida. Excited to be back—as a Research Scholar this time—he’s ready to dive deeper into research and continue building his path toward becoming a physician-scientist. Wilian is fueled by a genuine love of knowledge and the joy of learning for its own sake. He values honesty, hard work, and keeping life grounded—both in medicine and beyond. Outside of work, Wilian enjoys spending time with his wife Morgana (who’s joining him in Gainesville), podcasting and videomaking, binge-watching movies, reading, geeking out over science and tech, and hitting the gym to stay balanced.
