About Zachary D Simon
Zachary Simon graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State University. He is joining the UF Department of Neurology as a Research Coordinator I for the new biobanking initiative. After moving here from California this past October, he spent his last year as a Research Assistant in the PGENeS lab of Dr. Carol Mathews in the Department of Psychiatry. He has been active as an advocate for students with Tourette Syndrome and a member of the Tourette Association of America for the last 14 years.
His scientific passions include research on movement disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. To that end, he plans to get his PhD in Neuroscience and spend his career working toward better understanding these illnesses. Outside of work, Zachary is a musical theater actor and has performed in over 50 productions in his lifetime, including 4 recent plays at the Acrosstown Repertory Theater here in Gainesville. He is looking forward to joining the amazing UF Neurology team.”
