Carlos A Suanes, MD

Carlos Suanes Zubizarreta was born in Cuba and grew up in Miami, Florida, where he later completed both his undergraduate education and medical school at FIU before making his way to Gainesville for neurology residency. He was drawn to neurology because it combines complex problem-solving with meaningful, long-term patient care. He is especially interested in movement disorders, Parkinson’s disease, DBS, and how technology can help restore function and quality of life. Outside of medicine, he enjoys a good cup of coffee, anything involving cars or technology, and spending time with his dog, Bean, who keeps life entertaining.
