About Jean E Cibula
My name is Jean Cibula, MD. I attended undergraduate and medical school at Case Western Reserve University. I completed my residency in general neurology and fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and behavioral neurology at the University of Florida. Following residency, I joined the neurology faculty at the University of Kentucky and was in private practice in Columbus, Ohio, before returning to the University of Florida in 2008.
I have been honored as a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and the American Epilepsy Society, and have served on the board of the Florida Society for Neurology. From 2012 to 2021, I served as an officer of the UF College of Medicine Faculty Council, and I serve as the medical director for the UFHealth Neurodiagnostic Laboratory.

Clinical Profile
Dr. Cibula’s clinical focus is medically refractory epilepsy and in surgical treatments for drug resistant epilepsy. She is also interested in women’s and adolescent issues and cognitive effects of epilepsy and its treatment. She collaborates with physicians in a number of other services and departments on EEG education, intraoperative cortical mapping for tumors and epilepsy, and provides long-term EEG monitoring in the critical care setting.

Research Profile
Dr Cibula is involved in new drug studies for epilepsy and has a particular interest in the behavioral neurology/epilepsy overlap. She has ongoing collaborations in EEG education and is a co-investigator for the adult precision ketogenic diet program.
