Yoav D Piura, MD

Dr. Yoav Piura specializes in behavioral neurology and neuroimmunology. He earned his medical degree at Tel Aviv University and trained in neurology at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, where he completed a fellowship in neuroimmunology and went on to direct the Neuroimmunology Clinic at Assuta University Hospital in Ashdod, Israel. He joins UF from Mayo Clinic Florida, where he completed a research fellowship in behavioral and cognitive neurology focused on neurodegenerative disease. His research spans dementia, specifically rapidly progressive dementia, plasma biomarker diagnostics for Alzheimer’s disease, and neuroimmunology. At UF, he is building a clinical and research program centered on early, accurate diagnosis of dementia using blood-based biomarkers, with a particular focus on identifying treatable causes of dementia.
