About Christine N Smith
Christine Smith grew up in Pembroke Pines, Florida, and went to college at Duke University where she majored in biomedical engineering. She was originally a mechanical engineering major, but after a lot of reflection, she decided to pursue medicine after a “gap year” and attended Wake Forest School of Medicine. During the neuroanatomy course, Christine diagnosed her grandfather with Parkinson disease, subsequently becoming fascinated with neuroscience, and the rest is history. She became nostalgic for sunny Florida and chose the program at UF because of the patient diversity and exposure to most subspecialties. In addition, she enjoys being less than two hours away from Disney World. In her free time, she makes jewelry and enjoys spending time with her pet birds.
