During the 2018 annual meeting in Los Angeles, “The ladies of AAN’s leadership program […] are taking the bow tie to a whole new level”.With continued progress towards equality, 40% of members of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) members are women. The AAN celebrates this progress and the roles women neurologists play in leadership through the Women Leading in Neurology program. Dr. Irene Malaty, Movement Disorders division, represented the University of Florida with her leadership role in the movement disorders section of the Academy.
